Merge CSV Columns Online
Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser
Combine selected columns into a new final column with a chosen separator.
Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.
Instructions
- Paste data and list distinct column numbers in the desired order, such as 1,2.
- Choose the joining text and whether to remove source columns.
- Click Merge columns.
Understanding your result
Joining sample columns 1 and 2 with a space creates Alice Smith in the new final column. Keeping the source columns gives you a useful comparison while you review the result. Their order in the column list controls the order of the joined text.
What to do if you have a problem
If names appear backwards, change 1,2 to the order you need. If a separator appears beside an empty name, inspect the source cells; the tool joins text rather than guessing which parts should be omitted. Remove source columns only after reviewing the joined result.
What to know before using the result
Maximum 2 MB and 20,000 rows. Values are joined as text, including a header row if present. Short rows are padded with empty values.
These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.

Summary
Use the new joined column when your destination needs several source fields combined into one value.
