CSV Delimiter Converter Online
Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser
Convert comma, tab, semicolon, or custom delimiters while preserving quoted values.
Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.
Instructions
- Paste data and choose the input and output delimiters.
- Click Convert delimiter, review the preview, then download.
Understanding your result
Converting the sample from comma to semicolon gives Name;City followed by Alice;Dublin. A comma inside a value remains part of that value when quoting is needed. The output delimiter should match the destination that will import your file.
What to do if you have a problem
If the output still looks like one column in Excel, choose its new delimiter during import. For a custom delimiter enter one character, rather than a word or a pair of symbols. Check a row containing punctuation as well as the simple first row.
What to know before using the result
Maximum 2 MB and 20,000 rows. A custom delimiter must be one character. Downloads use UTF-8 and CRLF row endings.
These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.

Summary
Save a CSV using the delimiter your destination expects, with quoted values kept together.
