Spreadsheet Number Format Normalizer Online

Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser

Convert numbers from explicitly chosen source separators to a dot decimal without thousands grouping.

Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.

Instructions

  1. Paste a CSV with a header, enter the numeric column numbers, and select the source decimal and thousands separators.
  2. Quote numbers containing the CSV delimiter.
  3. Normalize, review, and download.
  4. Columns begin at 1; other columns stay unchanged.

Understanding your result

For the sample's decimal comma and thousands dot, 1.234,50 becomes 1234.50. The chosen separators determine interpretation. The tool leaves other columns alone and preserves digit strings, so review the normalized numeric column before importing it into Excel.

What to do if you have a problem

If numbers fail validation, check grouping and remove unsupported currency or percent symbols first. Quote values that contain the CSV delimiter so they remain one cell. Choose separators from the source data rather than your preferred display format; a wrong choice can change meaning.

What to know before using the result

No locale is inferred. Decimal and thousands separators must differ. Grouped integers require one to three digits in the first group and exactly three in later groups. Supports a leading sign and digit-only fractional part; no currency, percentages, parentheses or scientific notation. Blank cells remain blank. Output preserves digit strings, including leading zeros, but Excel import may change their display or precision. Input limit: 2 MB and 20,000 rows.

These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.
