SUMIFS & COUNTIFS Formula Builder
Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser
Build a multi-criteria sum or count formula with safely quoted criteria and checks for matching range dimensions.
Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.
Instructions
- Choose SUMIFS or COUNTIFS.
- For SUMIFS enter the sum range.
- Enter one rule per line as range, TAB, criterion.
- Choose the argument separator and build the formula.
- Copy or download the plain formula text.
Understanding your result
With the sample rules, only rows whose column A is West and whose column B is at least 10 qualify. COUNTIFS returns their count; SUMIFS adds values from your sum range. The rules act together, so adding another rule can reduce the matching set.
What to do if you have a problem
If a formula will not build, separate the range and criterion with a tab on every rule line and check range sizes. If Excel returns zero, inspect the actual values, whitespace and criterion spelling. Test a small known set before applying the formula to a full worksheet.
What to know before using the result
Supports 1 to 127 rules with A1 rectangular ranges of equal dimensions. Criteria are literal text, comparisons or Excel wildcards, not formulas or cell-driven expressions. All rules are combined with AND. Available in Excel 2007 and later. Formulas are not evaluated here.
These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.

$A$2:$A$100 West $B$2:$B$100 >=10
Summary
Use the generated formula to sum or count rows that satisfy every entered criterion.
