Join Two Tables Online

Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser

Merge two pasted tables by a chosen key with left, inner or full joins, duplicate diagnostics and unmatched row counts.

Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.

Instructions

  1. Paste both tables with their header rows.
  2. Choose each key column and a join type, then join and export.
  3. Left joins retain every left row, inner joins retain matching pairs, and full joins also retain unmatched right rows.

Understanding your result

For the sample, an inner join matches Alice to Dublin through ID 1. A left join also keeps Bob with empty right-side cells. A full join additionally keeps the unmatched ID 3 from the right table. Compare unmatched counts with your expectations.

What to do if you have a problem

If the join creates extra rows, check whether either key repeats: every matching pair is returned. If records fail to match, inspect spaces and text case in the keys. A numeric-looking ID and a padded ID may represent the same person to you while remaining different text here.

What to know before using the result

Matching is exact and case sensitive; spaces and empty keys are significant. Duplicate keys produce all matching pairs, which can multiply rows. Both key columns are retained. No fuzzy matching or multiple-column keys. Maximum 20,000 output data rows.

These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.

Try an example

Left: ID,Name
1,Alice
2,Bob

Right: ID,City
1,Dublin
3,Cork

Summary

Export the selected join after reviewing unmatched keys and any rows multiplied by duplicate matches.
