Split CSV Files Online

Free online tool · No signup · Runs in your browser

Split a CSV into smaller files by data-row count, with the header repeated in every part.

Your data stays in this browser tool. No account or upload to a processing service required.

Instructions

  1. Paste a table with a header, set the number of data rows per file and split it.
  2. The preview shows the first part.
  3. Download every part individually using its numbered button.

Understanding your result

For the three-row sample, a limit of two data rows creates two files: the first contains Ada and Sam, and the second contains Lee. Each receives the header. The preview represents the first part, so save every numbered part you need.

What to do if you have a problem

If the split would create too many files, raise the rows-per-file value. If you see a heading as data, check that the first input row is the intended header. Open a later part as well as the first to confirm the boundaries suit your import task.

What to know before using the result

Creates at most 50 files and does not create a ZIP archive. The final part may contain fewer rows. Splits preserve row order and repeat the first row as the header. Maximum 2 MB and 20,000 input rows including the header.

These tools work with pasted text or supported CSV files rather than Excel workbook files. CSV exports contain values and do not preserve workbook formatting, formulas or multiple worksheets. Formula builders produce formula text to use in Excel. Data processing runs in the browser tool.
